You needed other people to formulate your "argument" to where it made sense. You backed yourself in a corner saying "only arrests" matter which is ridiculous.

Yo wanted to view something by numbers which can't be judged soley on the numbers you provided and you refuse to acknowledge anything else. That defines delusion.

These are the cold hard facts

What 4444's perception of the football program is has no bearing on the facts.

Then your original argument is moot.

That ONLY looking at number of arrests is what indicates a coaches control?

I don't see how.

You CAN look at the numbers, because a bench player being arrested is equal to a star being arrested.

I agree you can look at numbers, and you should. But it takes more than looking at one number and nothing else.

Phenomenal post. Solid A+ effort, and I don't think that the Doc is a super Miles guy either. RA for sticky.

I'm not. But facts are facts.

And the fact is that lsu has had a really low arrest record spanning over the last 3 years

Anyone who has been around sports long enough knows that stats don't tell the whole story. You're not looking at things objectively because you are dismissing the entire Mathieu cluster-F. You want to back your point, I get it....don't try and convince people the Mathieve debacle didn't happen under Miles' watch.

Mathieu showed himself incapable of following team rules and was kicked off the team. After he was kicked off the team he was arrested. How is that a slight on the image of Les Miles or the university? They did what they could and took a problem out a LSU uniform. There is nothing more that could've been done

There are other indicators of course.

But you can't argue with the number of arrests.

I never said it was. I said his discipline problems while under Miles can not be ignored just because he wasn't arrested while playing for LSU. Then commented I don't think Miles treated that situation badly.

Exactly. The ultimate control they have over the players is kicking them off the team.

If you have another objective measure that contradicts the OP, post it. All you have is vague
"bigger picture" and "look deeper" comments that don't really mean shite.

The fact is, if you have a team with a dozen players being arrested vs. a team with three, then those subjective measures you keep dangling out there are probably applicable to the team with more arrests even more than than the team with less.

FINALLY!!!

Of course not...never tied to.

Only that some of those "other" things have lead to a misconstrued perception of Miles' control and the state of the program. Boiling things down to JUST number of arrests doesn't look at the entire picture, good or bad for Miles and LSU.

Perilloux had discipline problems while at lsu (hell, he pulled a gun on someone outside the varsity *allegedly*

He was involved in an FBI investigation for money laundering.

Got busted for a fake ID at the casino.

He failed Drug tests.

Eventually miles had enough

But it's a fricking good indicator

If LSU had 11 arrests in one year, what would you say?

I'm not trying to contradict the number of arrests by saying that they are not valid, only that there are other things that need to be taken into account (specifically the Mathieu ordeal) when discussing the issue.

Doc ignored it, you didn't. Major difference.

Because that's not what the thread is about.

It's about arrests.

I've never said it wasn't.

You're the one who was refusing to acknowledge instances and players because they weren't arrested on Miles' watch. I've just said more needs to be taken into account than what you provided.

That isn't what this thread is about. This tread is about comparing the number of arrests of LSU players vs the rest of the SEC.

Are there other points we could take into account? Sure but if Les and LSU are the second lowest team in this particular category then all the knee jerk reactions of "LSU is out of control" must be based on false perceptions.

After all Les keeps his players out jail better than anyone else in the SEC.
