I want to say that phase 4 progress will be kept, but there will be a break for new members between when phase 4 ends and when the full game releases. I'll ask around.

From what I hear, it's not nearly the grind XI was, but there is still some hardcore content. Like the relic weapons before they took the game down.

It's much easier to do things in this game than it was in XI.. at the end of the day though, this is still an MMO, it's still going to be a slight commitment and it's still going to take a little bit of time and you are still going to feel connected to the character you put the time into..
I understand his reasoning, I never play MMO betas either.

I wonder if I can just reactivate my FFXIV account to get into Phase 4. Technically, my Square Enix ID is active so I'd only have to reactivate the FFXIV part. I'll keep monitoring this thread as you guys play the beta.

The reason I ended up stopping XI was because I got tired of waiting for 2 hours to finally form an XP party, then 30 minutes later when everyone's at the location and ready to go, somebody has to drop out.

I imagine that happens with every MMO. Guess that's what guilds/link shells are for.

Supposed to. Shoot. Me and a friend leveled up our pugilists by just doing leve quests. Just the two of us. Wasn't boring at all, at least to me.

I played probably 2 months of FFXIV. Didn't have the same feel as FFXI in regards to content. I'll check it out and see what I can do.
FFXI XP parties are much different these days. All XPing is either done in Alliances or Solo. You can level to 99 in 2-3 Days of Play Time from scratch.

It is. Was a quick and easy mount to get for a time, but most people don't use it except to troll. Plus, the music is a lot better than the chocobo music and I could never figure out how to switch them.

define real.. because they were definitely real before the game went down in preparation for ARR.. they were a joke mount for "fun" implimented into the game for fun, had awful camera angles once you were on them.. and took up your whole screen, it was a "fun" mount, just to play around with.
