At half price too.

Congrats.
Don't even look at the salad bar, bread, or other stuff. Just eat meat.
Mess around with the other stuff when you've had the filet, flank, lamb, sirloin, and lamb chops.

Meh....Salad bar and lobster bisque are great. Meat is too salty and overcooked. I'd buy the salad bar and not eat the meat. Keep a big glass of water by the bed if you eat the meat.

Back. Well my overall experience with TDB has been great for the bunch of times I've gone. Tonight was certainly one of the better times if not the best. Not busy. Placed us right where the gauchos come out with the meat so we had first dibs. I always get the lobster bisque and some bread to help scrape the bowl clean. Meats were cooked med-rare, just right for the Mrs and I. Water never dipped below half and had plenty of flank, top sirloin, filets, even a slab of the beef rib too. I stay away from everything that isn't beef. Chicken is always chicken even if its wrapped in bacon or covered in Parmesan. Lamb is not for me it seems. Only pork I'll get is the Brazilian sausage (no homo). Lastly we always find a way to save room for dessert. I know what your thinking but TDB has 2 of my favorite desserts, banana foster pie and triple chocolate mousse cake, and the Mrs and I get both and just share. As for the bad times well its more service than the food.

Efffff the haters. I love devouring pounds of meat at that place

Never been-have no desire to eat large quantities of meat, but the carnivore of a son of mine would love it.

I've earned the meat sweats several times there. It's my favorite trough.

I walked in thinking I would do that. Smelled the meat and couldn't resist. Not terrible but once the bill came I felt like I had been had. Ugh. Still aggravates me.

Hence, why when it comes to food .. people probably don't take you seriously IRL.

sounds like a couple of Appelbee's specials

Haven't been and been wanting to go since I first heard about it. My boys and I are planning on going after finals.

I have wanted to try this place. Looked on their website and it shows one opening in the river walk/New Orleans in 2014. Guess i will wait and try it then.

Not talking about chicken in general, best chicken I ever had was at La Boca in New Orleans but thats another thread. I was just speaking to what I've I've noticed about TDB's. It's too dry and just wasted room in the stomach when there is so much more to be had there. As for the sausage: no defense, but it's good IMO

Exactly, but so much better. We were thinking the same when we thought about dessert at a place like TDB but we were surprised.

Have only been once and i thought it was really good. sit at the table and drink beer and have an endless supply of beef, chicken etc brought out to you....
Although i'm pretty sure i gave birth later that night.

Yeah, I knew what the price was which is why I was going to go with the salad bar only initially. It was not my choice to go there anyway. It was a group birthday party and since I'm so nice, I can't get myself to say no. You don't think about the price while you are eating but once that bill comes you suddenly feel extremely unsatistied. I immediately thought that for the same amount I could have had a much, MUCH better meal at somewhere like Bayona. Again, it isn't bad food. Just not worth it, IMO.
If you go, only order beer or wine. The cocktails, while tasty, are weeeeeeeeereak.

This is gonna gross the women of the F&DB out, but it's a story I can't help but tell.
Once, I went and had a few drinks before at the bar. Then some scotch with dinner, and brew..can't remember what kind. I got some of the lobster bisque before the guys started coming around, some shrooms, and one or two other little things to pair with some of the cuts.
I ate for about 30 minutes. I was stuffed. And then, I thought, "One more bowl of that bisque would be o.k."
I finished the bowl and that last beer, asked for the check, and started to feel weird. My wife and friends at the table knew the face I was making, as I've made this face a number of times before, only not from over-eating. It seemd like Peggy took forever running my card through at this point.
Finally, we're paid up, walking out, and I feel like the fresh air is gonna help. Then reality hits me, something's gotta go. I start looking pail, and my wife is laughing and pointing at me, which made it worse. Right before I get into my brother's car, I think 'it's all about to go, how awful!'
And then,.... I puked the last bowl of soup. That was it. I felt great after that. It reminded me of a Monty Python skit.
