Please Link to thread and posts containing aforesaid acts. I'd like to see this douchebaggery from TN Bhoy up close and personal.

Admins took a fricking hatchet to the thread. It is all long gone now.

I definitely got satisfaction seeing his last post on the Soccer board for about 5 months.

ETA: Not only did I find the thread, but I actually used the same term back then to describe the admin actions

I read the books before the series came out. It's awesome that way.

It's also hard not to spoil things for the non readers, so I stay out of all the threads. Sometimes I forget how far the show has gone. I def almost dropped a huge spoiler one time bc I got the book and series mixed up in my head.

Has there been many assholes who spoil huge things on purpose?

He was banned only five months?

I would've banned him for a minimum of a year at least.

not here. I finished watching the first season and I was hooked. I couldn't wait a year to find out what happens so I picked up the books and read them all before the 2nd season started.

I got into the show after season one then I started reading chapter summaries at towerofthehand.com then decided to read the books.

The GoT wiki is also incredible.

Overachiever.

I didn't even know about the books until I watched the first season. After talking with some readers on here who were super helpful with following along the show/characters and suggested reading I ended up picking up the books shortly after the first season ended. I intended on just reading the books as the show progressed, got into Game of Thrones, and within a few weeks had read clear through A Dance with Dragons. Totally hooked.

Nah, I just liked the show and decided to read the books. Plus I heard nasty rumors and decided to read.

Saw season 1 right before season 2 started. At the end of season 2, I really did not want to wait so I read the first three and now I am about finished with A feast for Crows.

I think that there are quite a few posters on here that take this series/books entirely too seriously. It's a frickING book! Get over yourself.

the threads definitely got me interested. downloaded the first season and read the book up to where they were in the show. marathoned a few episodes to finish the season then finished first book. started on clash of kings immediately and had knocked out the series about 2 weeks after dance was released.

Started reading with GOT in paperback back in 97ish thanks to a blurb from Robert Jordan on the cover, so it's unfortunately been way too long since I started the series.

I'm on book 4 of wheel of time right now.... To be honest I was hoping for more.

Not that it's bad but I think ASOIAF spoiled me with the "gritty" fantasy. WOT just can't hold my interest fr extended periods of time like my favorite books do. There are entirely too many POV characters that I neither hate nor like. I just don't give a shite what happens to the vast majority of the characters. I just want to see Rand, Perrin and Lan frick shite up and Robert Jordan seems like he was bound and fricking determined to keep me from seeing that.

Yes I hadn't heard of game of thrones until I saw a thread recently. I don't have hbo but I've just started the second book and am hooked. I'm not interested in seeing the show though.

The one chick who tugs her braid.

To the OP, I randomly picked up Game of Thrones from a book store back in 2000 (I think) after Storm of Swords came out. Went through the books quick then waited for the next book to come out.

It's a damn good show. You are missing out, but that's your prerogative.

Same here...just started book 4. So far it's okay, but I hear it just gets worse before it gets better. I agree about all the random POVs...I tend to flip through to see how many pages they have, and if it's too many I just put down the book and read it later. I thought Perrin would be pretty cool as well, but he's been a disappointment so far. If he says NO!!!! one more time I'm gonna claw my fricking eyes out. Hope he gets better later on in the book.

As for the OP, I started reading the books after all the excitement from the series. Read all the books last year, then started watching the series. I hate watching a series before reading the books since it always messes up my mental picture of characters. I read all the Harry Potter books, but still haven't watched the movies yet

I watched all of season 1, then started reading.

I loved the show, and have never had a book not blow away its TV counterpart. Needless to say I was not dissapointed.

I read everything but ADWD before season 2 started.

Spoilers on TD inspired me to hurry up and get caught up, but not to read them in the first place.
