I had to read this part over and over again in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (bk. 7), and it gave me goosebumps every time. I guess with the sense of unease everyone felt knowing that something was going to go down eventually, when that moment happened, everything just snaps and it's on. Still one of my favorite parts from Hallows. I'll still get chills when I read that part.

What moment from either a movie or a book that just gave you chills watching or reading?

"Oh captain, my captain" still does it for me as well.

Aragorn: I do not know what strength is in my blood, but I swear to you I will not let the White City fall, nor our people fail.

Boromir: Our people, our people. I would have followed you, my brother... my captain... my king.

Aragorn: Be at peace, Son of Gondor.

At the Black Gate

quote:

Aragorn: Hold your ground, hold your ground! Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of woes and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

How amazing was that? I mean, I don't believe you can think of a better example of "pure movie magic".

Pretty perfect.

I imagine that I would react the same way that Grant did.

The Williams music was glorious.

I cried when gandalf led the riders of Rohan down into the valley to end the battle of helms deep. He was shining so bright that the enemy couldn't even look at him.

Then rotk had his staff broken??!?!????

They were temporarily blinded by the sunrise as Gandalf and the Rohirrim were charging.

Will Munny: That's right. I've killed women and children. I've killed just about everything that walks or crawled at one time or another. And I'm here to kill you, Little Bill, for what you did to Ned.

We have barred the gates, but can not hold them for long. We cannot get out. They have taken the Bridge and the Second Hall. Frár and Lóni and Náli fell there. "All right, Clanton... You called down the thunder. Well, now you've got it! You see that? It says "United States Marshal."... Take a good look at him, Ike, because that's how you're gonna end up!... The Cowboys are finished, you understand me?! I see a red sash, I kill the man wearin' it! So run, you cur... RUN! Tell all the other curs the LAW'S coming! You tell 'em I'M coming... and Hell's coming with me, you hear?! Hell's coming with me!"

The scene from "Miracle" when Herb Brooks gives them the speech about great moments before they play the Soviets and then team walking through the hallway, tapping their hands on all the encouragement letters and telegrams from U.S. citizens, the media giving them a round of applause in the lobby outside the rink, before the security gaurd holds them up at the entrance of the rink until he gets the call that they're ready for the team to come out and the crowd goes crazy
