Some of these big names were legends at their sport but that doesnt mean they were one of the best athletes. Theres many more pure athletes that have came through lsu

pparently you don't watch baseball, do you?

You know how Aaron Nola has pitched 3 consecutive Complete Games, well, Ben McDonald pitched 44.2 consecutive shutout innings. (A record never to be broken at LSU)

Oh, how many LSU baseball players were drafted #1 overall in the MLB draft? 1, Ben McDonald.

Owns the SEC record for Strikeouts per 9 innings - Averaged almost 12/game in 1989.

And he played basketball

That team was a elite eight team and if I remember correct he started as freshman in that elite eight game.

I would have to say that Dr. Andrews would have to be mentioned in this group. Not top 5 on the field but an LSU athlete that is a top 5 grad without a doubt.

Just my opinion!

Also, I think he won an ESPY!

So define athlete then? He was badass in high school in multiple sports.

If you look at the list, there are several guys who were only great at their positions. If you would look up his records you would see he had a shite ton of receiving and rushing. To me that screams athlete

Ben McDonald only played baseball, Shaquille only played BB, Pistol Pete, the list goes on. I find it funny that you cherry pick DH out.
