Laf High coach suspended all seniors for first round baseball playoff game against Cath. High( Cath won 5-2). Seniors missed practice for senior skip day. What would you have done. I say good job coach, way to go.

This.

If they were told if you skip, this will happen, then that should happen.

If they were warned, I agree fully

Why would you want to miss practice anyway? Sure, skip classes, but I'd make the practice.

I think every coach in just about every sport I played in from middle school on up had a policy that if you missed a practice during the week you couldn't play in the game that weekend. We were told that from the get go. Good for the coach for sticking to his guns.

It's a no brainer. If you miss school, you miss extra curricular activities. No exceptions.

I didn;t think you were allowed to practice if you didn't attend school that day.

As long as he's had the same policy all year that if you miss practice you miss a game I'd have no problem with it.

Good for him. I'm sure some of the dumb arse parents will claim this cost their kid a scholarship to LSU and will want the coach fired. These kids are young adults and obviously mom & dad haven't taught them accountability.

ETA: and i bet some of they underclassmen were ecstatic to get the chance to play and will learn from the precedent set.

Win at all costs.. IF LSU players had a rule that if you skipped class you could not play, half the team would be missing games.

I am sure there is more to this story that we are not getting.

Uhh no, if LSU had that rule, players wouldn't be missing class for no good reason.

Lafayette High will probably be back in the playoffs soon so i bet they didn't mind...

if i had a chance for a state title, or i might not see the playoffs again for a while, i'd think differently

I had the same question. Maybe practice was during athletic P.E., which I think is longer than regular P.E.
