I've been SCUBA diving for 5 years now, and I've always wanted to spearfish. I hear it's very dangerous, so I wouldn't do it without the proper training, but it is on my bucket list!

Spearfishing, especially how we do it, diving in the platforms and to depths that are considered ridiculous and stupid to most, can be dangerous. But I can confidently say that I have trained and I'm learning from the best spearfishermen in the world, hands down
There are some pretty bad arse women that spearfish also, so dont let that scare you!
