Did Magpul ever announce what state they are moving to? Seems like we would have heard by now.

They commented on their Facebook post and said they weren't releasing that information yet. But they did say Pmag production has already left Colorado.

I agree that they are not necessary, but how much stuff that you have bought in the last few months is really necessary?

I haven't paid $0.01 more than I have to. If the MagPul's are cheaper than steel, I'm all for them. If not, I'll keep buying steel.

And the polymer MagPul's might be. They've been very competitive thus far.

Its not about price with these really, IMO. Its more about quality. I believe that while the steel AK mags work, the polymer mags will be better. Magpul will not be able to compete with the stamped Russian satellite countries that stamp these out by the millions (price wise).

Lighter sure, but how can they be better? AK47 mags, save for maybe a few manufacturers are extremely reliable.

I've fired a poly Tapco mag through my AK, and it was superior to the steel. Much tighter. Less slack.

Hope they have steel in the locking tab and feedlips otherwise I don't really see the point.

From Magpul:

Also currently in development, and arriving on the heels of the AK MOE, is the next release in the PMAG AK lineup, which will be a 7.62x39 magazine with a little more “Bulgarian” in it, featuring solid steel reinforcements at lockup points.

In my experience the only AK (non US made) mags that have been 100% reliable are the circle 10 Bulgarian Waffle Mags, those are polymer. Most of the other steel mags have malfunctioned. Mostly spring and follower issues. Good for PMAG for making these, should be GTG.

For AR's I personally like USGI aluminium mags over PMAGS, but I am old school. HK steel mags are great too, just haven't seen them for sale in at least 5 years.

I would prefer the steel reinforcement in the critical area(s) like the ones my Bulgarian waffles have.

I am interested in the 1911 stocks as well.
