OB Survey.. Boats You Have Owned

To start, I had a 10ft aluminum jon, paddle power until I spent some of the blueberry plant money I made when I was 15 and bought a Minn Kota tiller. I used that boat for a long time. Had about 25lbs of JB Weld on it. Sold it to a scarp yard 5 years ago. I caught a lot of fish in a lot of places out of that boat. I have another 10ft jon I bought a couple of years ago for $75. No leaks so far.
My mom's dad gave me a 15ft fiberglass jon with a 10hp Johnson on it when I was 17. His health wouldn't let him go out in it anymore. It wasn't enough motor to plane it, but I used it a good bit on area rivers and lakes. Some bastard stole the motor off the back before I had even had it a year. I still have the boat and trailer, and I want to re-power it and use it again.
Then I moved up to a borrowed 15ft stick steer with a 40hp Evinrude. Technically, it wasn't my boat, but belonged to one of my dads friends that had cancer. I used this boat for 2 years, expanding my fishing, getting into a lot of bass tournaments. When he passed away, I gave it back to his wife to sell. I didn't have the money to buy it at the time.
After about a year after that, I bought a Hydra Sports 17ft with a 150 Suzuki Super Six. I was fishing a lot of bass tourneys by this time. I kept this rig for a while, but I started having a good bit of problems with the motor. I sold this boat with a blown motor.
1 week after I sold the Hydra Sports, I bought a Champion 181 with a 150 EFI Mariner. That was a fine boat and motor combo. I ran that boat in all kinds of tournaments for several years until I lost interest in tourneys. I sold the boat, with mixed emotions.
About 2 months after that, I bought a 16ft tunnel hull skiff with a 50hp Johnson. It will run on a wet parking lot, and the motor, although cold natured, is strong. It is perfect to run the rivers and the inshore areas I fish. I will probably take this boat to the boneyard. I will be replacing the motor and trolling motor, of course, but I love the hull.
If I ever get the itch, I will buy a bay boat in the 20-22ft range, but I will keep my skiff too.

1. 16 ft Cajun special with 25 up Evinrude
2 18 ft Bayliner bass boat with 125hp Suzuki
3. 20 ft Javelin fish and ski with 200 up Evinrude
Current - 22 ft Skeeter ZX 2250 with 200 hp Yamaha.
Loved them all. Really wish I would have kept the Cajun special as that was a great little boat for bayous and rivers and just about anything inland.

man, I like that little skiff. My first was an inflatable dingy with a trolling motor that I used to fish the marsh as a kid. Now I use my dad's whaler.

Love my etec. Great fuel mileage. Fast. Good holeshot. And has a great waterpump on it. It's louder than yamaha 4 strokes but thats my only knock on it.
