I love the "calm down, it was just an agreement" after he specifically said he pulled himself from the draft and signed BEFORE the draft was over.

But yes, everyone is overreacting and needs to calm down

Apparently everyone only wants to bring him down.

This...for whatever reason.

He reached an agreement with Kelly and the Eagles. If he had been drafted that agreement would have never been carried through. He was not drafted, so the agreement was finalized.

The comment saying that he took himself off the board, if that is indeed what he said, is merely a face saving statement to cover wounded pride. No big deal, but it makes some people feel good to mock him for it.

Dude, he is quoted as saying he pulled himself from the draft and signed with Philly BEFORE the draft was over.

I didn't say it, you didn't say it, he said it. So if he's going to lie(this isn't even embelleshing, it's flat out lying), then he's going to have to be man enough to face the critics who called him on that lie. Passing the blame as "everyone is out to get me" is a cop out.

You may be 100% right, he may have lied to save face at his wounded pride, I get that and can't say I wouldn't have done the same. But at some point you have to take some responsiblity and not try to pass the buck, and it seems like it's ALWAYs someone else's fault in regards to his football shortcomings.

pretty sure swamie was being sarcastic. But anyway, he has more people making excuses for his lack of production than detractors.

and the above statement was just another instance of him making an excuse or spinning failing to meet his own expectations "yeah I didn't produce in college because the offense held me back" "I didn't get drafted because I took myself off the board"

he needs to learn to just shut up

I'm not disputing this. I only added the caveat because I read the first page of the thread and there was no link to the actual printed statement; merely someone saying what he said. Therefore, I added "if that is indeed what he said" while not claiming that he did not say it. It sounds like something he could say but all I had to go with was a poster saying what he said. And we all know how posters here are 100% accurate 100% of the time.

Yeah it was. I get that you probably have to have blinders on so you don't let the public get to you, but you don't go making up stories, then blaming the public for the misconceptions.

Shep's just on the corner of confident and delusional and yesterday he took that turn into delusional.

Fair enough.

But now that you know the quotes, I'm hoping you can see why some folks wont take too kindly to the "blame everyone else" approach Shep is taking when his stories are bringing these things on himself.

I loved how he kept referencing his "situation" in college. And then of course he claims Chip told him if he had come to Oregon he would "still be playing". I couldn't believe how full of shite he was. I really hope he is just gullible and not completely delusional.

There is no way to know what Kelly said. But Shepard in that Oregon offense would probably have been fun to watch.

The whole QB situation here over the past 4 years has been a completely miserable experience for everyone involved...the fans, the coaches, the players. And everyone has their villains and victims regarding the situation; it is pointless to argue over them. It is what it is but the most important thing is that it is in the past.

I'm ready for Cameron's offense and the guys we currently have playing.

True. But some of the players could have made it a little better on themselves by actually catching the balls that were thrown to them and not bitching and complaining about what was going on.

You can just add him to the long list of former players that have spoken negatively about our offense. I can't blame them. Our offense has sucked in just about every way.

But like I said...everyone has their own villains.

I have. And him and everyone else on that list did something negative to contribute to the situation. Whether it's T-Bob not being able to block, Jefferson being special needs, Randle not giving effort, or Shepard dropping passes that hit him right in the hands, these guys all just come off as bitter.

Sure, we had zero creativity on offense for years. But they couldn't execute what they were asked to, and that's their fault.

Are there coaches to blame? Yes. But I haven't heard any of the coaches taking to twitter or radio interviews to complain about anything. You made a comment about players, so I responded with a comment about players.

Like I said before, sure playcalling was awful, but if the players aren't going to execute what is called, how in the shite are we supposed to expand on it?

Two of the coaches are no longer here anyway and two are still here but in decreased capacity.
