re: Should the wave be "killed" at Tiger Stadium?

I personally intensely dislike the wave in Tiger Stadium. It obviously distracts the participants from watching the game.

It always seems like the Tigers start to play poorly once the wave is started in Tiger Stadium. I've witnessed this over and over.

How would you feel, as a player, when the fans ditract themselves from cheering for the team?

That being said, there's no way, that I can see, to stop it. The student section must lead by refusing to participate. It would take quite a campaign against the wave to get the students to refuse to participate in it.

I agree that it doesn't bother me. Definitely more for the younger audience I would imagine.

I usually see that wave happen during down times in Tiger Stadium. No big deal.

It may start during a break, but it continues over into game play. Unforgiveable, especially when we're on offense.

How about make the wave part of the game? For instance when the opposing team is going for a field goal a wave in the endzone could distract an opposing kicker just enough....... Just a thought I think the student section could pull this off. What do y'all think?

sorry for partying?

this just in: a lot of people in the stands are there for the social aspect of going to a football game and don't really give a shite about football. get over it.

The wave is my least favorite thing in sports stadiums. To me it means the crowd doesn't care whats going on.

If they first kill the embarrassing juvenile pointless and unfunny cursing with our songs, then yes. Yes, kill the wave.

I have no issue with beach balls or the wave.

Piped in music, banned GBFTL songs, empty seats at SEC games, shitty Jambalaya, that stuff I have no time for.

When I was a student at LSU, there weren't very many things that pissed me off more than people who did the wave. The only thing that comes close is when the people in front of you would stand on their seats, and you get caught in that limbo where the people behind you are standing on your seat, and the people behind them are standing on their seats.

But no, I still hate the wave in TS. There is no place for it. I remember cussing out some students for participating in doing the wave in the middle of the one of the close games in the 2007 season. I can't remember if it was Florida, Auburn, or Arkansas. But I was mad. frick the wave.

re: Should the wave be "killed" at Tiger Stadium?

Why not.

A few of the decades-old traditional LSU songs that were played by TGBFTL were killed by spoiled idiot giggling 18 year-olds who were more concerned with impressing each other and their dates than the 80,000 other people in the stands or millions watching on tv.
They also were unconcerned with the image or reputation of the university, its fan base or evidently, all students at LSU. Students who ostensibly, are supposed to take pride in their school and their future alma mater, if they make it that far in life.

Congratulations.......
