Mel Kiper and McShay think Matt Barkley can be Drew Brees esque

Said that if you surround him with a lot of talent and play uptempo he can be successful in the league. They felt his smarts and quick decisions can translate to great things. Drew Brees esque..

He isn't a terrible quarterback. The unrelenting hatred towards USC and the butthurt around here is ridiculous and illogical.

Put him in the Saints system he could be.

Don't see why we're busting out the popcorn for this one.

Drew Brees Scouting Report
"Plays in the spread offense, taking the bulk of his snaps from the shotgun... Tends to side-arm his passes going deep...Lacks accuracy and touch on his long throws...Does not possess the ideal height you look for in a pro passer, though his ability to scan the field helps him compensate in this area. Brees, coached right, will be the second coming of Brian Griese."
Sounds like Barkley.

How much money from an agent was promised for Kiper to say that?

What's so crazy about that?
You're right. I think Barkley can be really good. Just surprised by how people here reacted...
Thought most here hated him as a QB prospect.

I find it ridiculous. Unless I am missing something. MK and TM think Barkley can break records and be one of the most accurate QBs of all time?
Not gonna happen.
Not gonna happen.

Maybe as a first rounder people hated him, but where he went was completely fair.

Better question though...
If Brees never hurt his shoulder and stayed in San Diego...
Would he be the HOF QB he is today?

Agreed. I said this about him last season before he got hurt. The dude can play and has a cannon that most people have seem to forgotten about.
In 6 years time, he will be better than Luck. Facts.

Why would anyone watch these two guys when Mayock is over on NFLN doing this exact job 100 times better.
