In the interest of FD, found this website while I was in the military. Jan 04. I had an account that I lost when I transferred to the stennis. My OT lawyer has advised me to stay silent regarding my activity since then

I'm guessing for the coaches Jones and Vaccarro were 1 and 1A. Maybe they didn't like the question marks that came with Jones. Like it was pointed out, the saints needed both but one was just a touch more appealing.

Yep. Only time will tell who will be better. No reason to knock the pick. Dude could be a stud or he could be not so great. Its not like they drafted an absolute piece of shite in terms of talent though.

Because the saints have never done that.

Of course they have. No one is disputing that. Every team has. Obviously there recent first round grades aren't great defensively either. Maybe they got it right this time though.

I think you can make that argument for every team and the Saints ain't nearly as bad with their first rounders as others. I just say every year, well at least we ain't the Raiders. And this year I think the saints did as well as, if not better, than the majority of teams. Come on Canfield?

Meh. Recently their first rounders certainly havent been good with the exception of Jordan. I also think Reggie was worth it even though others don't. Other first rounders have been pretty crappy though.

Safe pic vs risky pick
I dont understand this mentality. the denialists on here act like taking JJ would have been flipping a coin between greatness and worthlessness.

every player drafted has some measure of risk attached to them. Different organizations calculate such risk in different ways. demarcus ware was a risk at 11. Played for troy for fricks sake. Jason piere paul was a risk at 15. mingo was a risk at 6. trading up to get MC at 6 was a risk. apparently the steelers didn't think the risk for JJ was too high two spots later.

And where in the world does the stuff about JJ's character come into play if it's being compared to KV? do you all view him as a saint? He's a class a douche, who regularly got into altercations on 6th. He's always had a huge ego and has never been much of a team player. And even IF he has a better work ethic in the weight room, etc, athletes have physical ceilings. I'd be more optimistic if he was a junior, but he's been in an nfl strength and conditioning program for four years at texas. He's not going to effort himself into going from a 4.63 to a 4.5

I will bet that our top pass rushing linebacker this year has more sacks than JJ does.
how much?

please name one player kenny vaccaro matched up with in college who comes anywhere close to vernon davis. and for the love of god before you try to say tavon austin, go read the other thread. his only success against TA was from jamming him at the line, and i have just a hunch that its easier to jam a 174 pound guy than vernon fricking davis

Jones is full out boom or bust both because of medical concerns and poor work ethic.

Gosh, I just don't understand how Jones led the SEC in sacks 2 straight years with that tewwible injury and poor poor work ethic???

Maybe he's unbelievably talented? Nah, that couldn't be it

You post this yet you act like people who disagree with taking Vaccaro over Jones think they are "know-it-alls" WTF? That's the point. They have not been good at 1st round and we don't even know if Jordan will be great. I think he will, or at least I'm really hoping so. Jury is certainly out on KV and JJ, but I'd be willing to bet Jones has more of an impact than KV.

And it's not to say I hate the KV pick. I just think it was too early for the wrong player. I truly hope I am proven wrong.
