@dailythunder: Not surprising the Thunder opted for the safe, long-term route. Have to think of Westbrook's health and career first and foremost.

@Rachel__Nichols: OKC Thunder announce Russell Westbrook had successful surgery in Vail, CO, today - but that he's definitely out for rest of the playoffs

I wanted a rematch of last year's finals. Both teams being full strength of course.

It will be interesting to see how Durant's game changes now.

Should've traded him and kept Harden

This is really unfortunate.

Spurs vs. OKC is going to be a great series still.

Sucks but the right call

Anyone who thought the Thunder could beat the Heat after losing Harden is dumb

Major bummer. I'm guessing he just got his knee scoped though correct?

He had his lateral meniscus repaired by Dr. LaPrade in Vail, CO with Dr. Carlan Yates (Thunder team surgeon) assisting.

I honestly don't believe we will get past the 2nd round without Westbrook. We might be able to beat the Grizz since they have weak guard play, but if it's the Clippers, CP3 will go off vs Reggie Jackson.

That's good to hear. If they had just removed it, he maybe could have played again this season. Repair is a longer recovery (6-8 weeks in a brace with limited weight bearing), but the best possible long term option for him.
