Texans take DeAndre Hopkins from Clemson, DJ Swearinger from USC, and Sam Montgomery from LSU. DJ and Sam both went to Greenwood high school together.
How rare is it that high school teammates get drafted in the same year by the same team? I believe Arkansas' players Jarius Wright and Greg Childs that were drafted by the Vikings last year both went to the same high school.

Steelers drafted Mike Wallace and Keenan Lewis in the same round. They both went to O.P. Walker

That is neat, I completely forgot about the Swearinger & Montgomery connection until my dad called me up about that today. Good for all 3 of them & wish em nothing but the best.

I'm very curious to see how Montgomery does in the 3-4. I said before the draft it might be the best thing for him to go to a 3-4 as a SDE. He doesn't have that elite pass rushing skill, but he is still above average at getting to the QB.
Where he excels is at the point of attack on run plays. He's the best in this draft among DEs, and it's not even close. If he can stuff the off-tackle power and take-on double teams in the run game Houston just got one helluva player in the third round.
Also, nothing but respect for how DJ plays the game. I hate him for it, but wish we had more guys like him.
