Not sure where they are going to fit them all in. Last year none of their draft picks started.

This is why the OP is wrong. They will have cap casualties if these young guys pan out.

they've drafted very well so a lot of their core players are still on their first contract

The 49ers have "disappointing season" written all over them. Kaeppernick is gonna come back down to Earth and this team isn't even making the NFC Championship Game this year.

if you draft impact players, you get cheap players that helps with the cap

i doubt these draft picks have even eaten up the cap space they saved by dealing alex smith

they also lost a big S to FA b/c they wouldn't overpay, and then filled that gap with a cheap draft pick

Patrick Willis just restructured his contact today to give us more cap room.

Cap takes a large jump in 2015. They will be fine.

When the cap takes a jump players will want more money, so they will still lose players like everyone else does. Like others said though, they tend to replace them well in the draft. We shall see if that keeps up.

They'll be good for a while but Lemonier won't be the reason

Crazy how good him and Bowman are together, that is a scary looking team for years to come.

What a good guy for getting the $2 million upfront instead of waiting for it to come game by game

49ers already ready for next year's draft too. We have the chiefs and panthers 3rd picks.

We need to remember the niners won 13 games while breaking in a brand new starter at QB, not during training camp, during the middle of the season.
