What don't i get. frick Jarvis, i knew we were never picking him. When Shariff fell, i thought for sure we had a 3-4 book end body for long time.

Apparently he's more of a 4-3 DT... at least we weren't the only ones who passed on him if he turns out to be a beast

I would have much rather that pick as well. Top 5 talent at 15

Word is he is a 4-3 only type of player. Reason why a lot of team passed.

I'm not sure if the Saints were picking anyone but Vaccaro unless he was off the board. When they went on the clock, their pick came in quickly and they didn't use much time.

I am still sorely disappointed we didn't get Jones, but I hope Vaccaro brings what the Saints need. And I hope this means Butler/Galette/Wilson are all we need for pass rush to go with Jordan, etc.

every indication was that he was a dual kind of 297lber. He's no different than a sheldon richardson who went to the jets unless theres something about his style of play (which very well could be the case) that i'm not aware of.

Same reason Steelers passed on him... He is fit for 4-3, Steelers said they were going with either Jones or Kenny. We def got a good one and filled a position needed.

Not a scheme fit. Floyd's a 3 tech defensive tackle.

Q: How many people did you have on your board when it came to the 15th pick?

A: “There were two, I won’t mention the other guy’s name. You look, and there are a handful of names that you graded very high, but those guys went early. Within that cloud, it got to where there were three picks with two names and so you clearly have to have a backup plan. Both two teams ahead of us took different players and so we were left with two guys that we were going to be real excited about.”

Got from an interview that Payton gave.. Apparently they didn't want Floyd, Richardson, or Star!! Either NT/DE is not a priority for them or they have their eye on someone in the later rounds they want

Well, clearly most of the teams picking didn't feel he was top 5 talent, because he fell into the 20s. You can't go strictly off of what "experts" think because most of the time, the teams that have giant scouting departments feel differently.

He's also strictly a 4-3 DT from what I read.

Never said differently, I commented on you "knowing the Saints weren't picking him". Nobody on this site knew shite until the minute they picked Vaccaro. No big deal.

I didn't laugh at you for putting Mingo above him. I would have loved either guy. I was more a Jones guy but frick it, we have to get behind Vaccaro now.
