And yet, kids that go to private, religious schools typically score higher on standardized testing than kids tha go to public schools. LINK
not surprising since you are weeding out the poor trash from uneducated families. if the scores were comparable, i would seriously question the quality of a private education

I wish we had a theology board because I would definitely pick your brain
If it was civil, respectful, and intelligent, it would be awesome. Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't get past three threads before some a-hole came on and started with the "y'all are stupid and going to hell" crap, then some crusader would joist back and it'd all go to shite.

You could also argue that people paying for their kid's education are going to more vigilant about homework, tests, etc.

Point being that you can't automatically assume private schools are teaching poor fundamentals just because they have a religious-centric curriculum.

I think most are aware of this.

exactly, you can't compare the quality of the education provided by a school based solely on test scores. there are too many other factors involved.

so just because it's private they can teach kids anything they want

Uh, yes. You are surprised a Christian school would teach Christian beliefs?

People have the right to believe whatever their heart leads them to. For some, that is Biblical Literalism. It's not "stupid" or "ignorant," just a different worldview.

No that would be a combination of their skewed test results and de facto slave labor.

Would you really want china's tech/economic standing if it came with their abomination of a human rights record?

the intercessory stuff just comes off as a way to maintain power over the congregation by writing a clause into the religion that forces them to be dependent on your religious employees

Or maybe as a way of providing the congregation with people to identify with and lean on relative to their position/predicament etc.
