A pass rusher with 5 sacks might go 2 overall?

Ummm... This has bust written all over it. At least Jarvis Jones has evidence of himself hitting a quarterback.

I'm referring to Dion Jordan by the way. The guy is like Von Miller at the combine, except he doesn't know how to play football.

Yeah I'd take him if he was there but I'd also be happy with Mingo or Jones

Edit meaning if he's there when the saints pick at 15

Mingo's got even fewer sacks, I believe.

If college stats = NFL success, then why isn't Colt Brennan starting anywhere?

It's an projection pick, his stats are similar to JPP's lone year at USF. He's huge, athletic, and can drop into coverage.

Stats aren't always the whole story when it comes to the future of the player(If so, my boy Travis Johnson at SJSU would be a 1st rounder), but there's always gonna be a chance a being a bust.

Hell, most of the "safe" picks have busted recently, so might as well swing for the fences.

Like the "safest pick in the 08 draft" Aaron Curry

Saints have a pass rusher with 5 sacks making $10 million plus. That's what you call economical.

I just think at number 2,there are plenty of work out warriors who also have proven themselves on the field. The guy had 5 sacks and 44 tackles. So 3.5 tackles and 0.4 sacks a game roughly. That is horrible.

JPP had 45 tackles and 6.5 sacks his final season at USF.

Was he horrible or didn't know how to play football?

Busts matter less and less with the new CBA, they aren't gonna kill your cap to just cut ties within 2 years. Especially if your a bottom dweller, chances are you'll draft in the same area next year anyway.

Take upside early, focus on the floor later. Almost every position is a dime a dozen every year anyway, so it's not like there won't be any OTs or QBs the next year...

He can also cover WRs down the field at 6'6, 250 lbs..

But I guess that's not really relevant to playing football.

Yeah, exactly.
Aldon Smith had 6 too.

Sacks aren't usually a good way to judge college guys, unless you've really studied their scheme and what they were asked to do.

If a guy is just asked to rush the passer every down and has 5 sacks, that'd be concerning. But usually these guys are doing all types of things to help their defense, because they are the best player on the team.

Bjoern Werner's fall on draft boards puzzles me.
