Comcast SportsNet Houston officials said today they have offered to provide the channel free of charge to carriers, including DirecTV, AT&T U-verse, Dish Network and Suddenlink Communications, beginning today and continuing through May 31.

I'm not seeing it on tv guide but that doesn't mean anything. I hope I can watch at least a few games. I have Suddenlink FWIW.

Is there anyway to stream the games online with CSN? Kind of like the watchESPN app?

If you have mlb.tv just go through a ip blocker and you won't be blacked out

I'll have to check and see if it shows up.

Houston Chronicle

Apparently, only an offer from CSN to the other providers for now.

Sorry guys, all this looks like is a ploy by the CSN folks to say "hey look we tried, they're the bad guys"

quote:

I called DriectTV and the CSR I spoke with said that there will not be a free Trial that it’s still in negotiations.

quote:

same here At 1:50pm cst DirecTV was saying they didn’t know anything about a free trial and that the station was still under negotiations. There is no plan to add the channel. They did give me $25 off my bilk for the next year, though.

quote:

Called Direct TV @ 2:45pm 4/25 The bozo I just talked to didn’t know, nor could find anything about it. Bamboozled again!!

quote:

Not surprising, I’ll just keep watching streams. Here’s their e-mail response: Cox does not currently carry this channel and it will be unavailable to all Cox customers during the free preview.

quote:

Dish still doesn't offer it and they said I will know if they add it.

Drayton McClane went and fricked us over before he left. Its a terrible time for the Astros to be trying to sell themselves to television carriers. They suck right now and although the future looks better, providers are worried about the now.

And I don't think you will. It sounds like none of the carriers have batted an eye at the "free trial" thing. CSN will then use this as a chip to turn people against their carriers.
