I went ahead and read the synopsis.

The one thing that is curiously absent, any mention of Alice Eve.

I'm starting to wonder if she is introduced in this movie as a setup for the future or was just a red herring to keep fans guessing who the villian of this movie is.

I know that the new movies aren't bound by the continuity of the past tv shows/movies, but considering 100 years later Data is the most advanced android I would be disappointed if you are right.

Well, there was an android in the first Star Trek movie. Lieutenant Ilia was replaced with an android.
