I've done a complete 180 and I'm now all in for trading up in one situation

If Star falls out of the top 8 and we can work a deal with the Jets and Ivory. Or even additional picks. I was very opposed to trading up b/c I wanted to keep all our picks. However, after reviewing our drafts since 06, only about half the picks typically end up making the team or actually taking meaningful snaps for more than a season. The entire 07 and 08 classes aren't even on the Saints roster anymore.

So, I'd rather jump up and take the guy I think would make the biggest difference on this team.

I know, TL;DR, EAD, DIAF, IDGAF, CSB

Edit: It doesn't necessarily have to be the Jets. I just thought it was the most likely scenario without us having to give up a ton

ISWYDT? Not sure if that was an intended pun or not, but I agree with the sentiment either way.

Put Ngata Jr. in the middle and I think that's a game changer.

Is this because the falcons are trying to move up again?

Oh. Ha, I didn't even realize. I actually thought about it after the "what one player in the draft do you want" thread

Not sure I would jump up for Star. I heard someone on NFLN say that he would be ranked right there just behind Dorsey and just about Ellis if all 3 were in the same draft. That put it in perspective to me. If he fell to us, I would be OK, but I would not jump up for him.

I'd be ok with that.

As long as it was a late round pick and definitely not for any future picks.

He resembles Haloti Ngata. Good scheme fit.

Don't know that any man of that size is as athletic as Ngata though..that man was scary coming out of college. Seriously running a sub 5 40 at 330.

Is this guy big enough to play NT full time? I know Ngata slides in and out. If not, I'd still rather Mingo/Jones considering we already have Hicks and Jordan at DE

Ngata slides to end because he's so explosive, he's like 330 pounds.

Loutouleilei is about 310. Big enough to anchor, but explosive enough to swing him out. Though again, Ngata is a rare athlete so it's probably not fair to compare them head up.

So would you want Hicks in the middle with Lut and Jordan at the ends? Kind of seems like a logjam right there IMO. Especially with bringing in Coleman as well. Or is he the type of guy you just take and figure it out?

I'm still in the camp that Hicks' athleticism lends itself better to playing end, so I really have no idea.

But really, what do I know.

Are people saying they look the same or play the same.

That comparison just seems so obligatory

We need to trade up no matter what. We need the picks.
