Chef's knife advice needed

I think I've got it narrowed down to these two:
Wusthof Classic Ikon 8-Inch Hollow Ground Cooks Knife
Shun Premier Chef's Knife
Any experience with these, rather it be positive or negative? Any other suggestions?

I just prefer the feel of the German chefs knives vs AZN ones. Personal preference, both are good knives.
Eta: i have Wusthof Classics, i didnt like the feel of the Ikon series

I've heard good things about MAC. How are the handles? I've got pretty large hands.

Good. I will say it is probably a lighter knife than you may have been used to. But incredible blade and very well balanced. Took about a week to get used to it. But now, couldnt fathom using another knife.

I'd go with the JA Henkels 4 Star II, but any of those are fine knives.

I own the Shun that you're looking at. It's a great knife that holds an edge well. It's on the lighter side compared to my Wusthof's but I've gotten used to it.

Thanks for the heads up. Anyone else have any opinions?

Woot! Had a two Shun knives available in December for I think $169.99 -- it was the 8" Chef's Knife and a 6" utility knife. I picked them up and I've loved them. I tried a couple different knives before purchasing to find the right one for me. I found the Wusthof knives to be a little heavier than what I was looking for. The Shun knives were light and the curve of the blade on the chef's knife was perfect for me to get a speedy and efficient chop going. They were the right knives for me (the blades have been fantastic and are still razor sharp, plus I can send them off to be sharpened for as long as I have them), but they may not be what you're looking for. That being said, I'd recommend them to anyone.

Go for a ten inch Wusthof or Henckels if German is desired, a Sabatier carbon steel from France is a good bang for the buck in terms of ease of keeping a sharp edge easily on it

Go to a kitchen store and hold em both. Both are good knives and you'll be happy with either. I have a wusthof and a shun. Both 8" chefs but not the ones you have pictured.
I personally like the Shun better. If you buy the Shun make sure you buy a steel. Mine is worthless unless I take the steel to it prior to each use.
