could say the same for Booty, when he played us as a negotiating lever with the Marlins, and having no intention of playing fb here(before he washed out of bb,) I'm sure it turned away other potential qb prospects

How the hell is Mathieu a serious answer? Dude got thrust into a star role due to his on-field play, couldn't handle the pressure, used weed to fight depression and eventually got kicked off the team for it. His biggest legal transgression was weed, which doesn't matter for shite.
This compared to Ryan Perrilloux, who seriously claimed he was going to win 4 Heismans and got kicked off the team for everything from counterfeiting to fake IDing into a casino to fighting people.
That anyone is seriously suggesting anyone more recent than Perrilloux speaks poorly to the intermediate-term memory of the program.
