How much to bid on Chase Headley?

Guy in our league dropped him last week. Waivers go through on Sundays.
This is our first year doing a FA budget and people have been pretty conservative so far. The most anyone has spent is $11.
It's a 6 team NL only. $250 budget.
Headley would go into my starting lineup as I have Young, Carpenter, and Hanley(on the DL)

Yeh, id say at least 25% of my budget. That's what I would bid

I figured it was $100 budget.
Is it a league where you get him for $1 more than the next highest bidder or you pay what you actually bid? Can you make $0 pickups or is everything $1? If you can't make $0 pickups, you have to budget enough to allow for pickups for the remainder of the year. If you are allowed $0 pickups, I'd bid A LOT.

the minimum bid is $2. its like a blind auction. you pay what you bid. i have no idea what anyone else will be bidding. There are only 2 other guys in the league that I'm worried about getting him
$250 budget

I'd probably go $75-100 still, even with $2 minimum bids.
Even being NL, your 2 3B are terrible for a 6 team league. I assume Hanley would be your SS?
I have no idea why Headley would be dropped in an NL only league. He's the type of player that can win you the league when you're starting Michael Young. NL 3B are pretty weak... I'd have Headley ranked 3rd out of 3B.

Hanley MAY be my SS. I also have S Castro. I'm thinking I will end up moving someone for some pitching. I drafted 3 closers (Chapman, Axford, and Marmol) and obviousy 2 of those have lost their jobs.
We have 1 monumental retard. It keeps the league fun being able to make fun of him. None of us are even sure he knows how fantasy sports works after 6 or 7 years playing. I'm sure he just glanced at him being on the DL this past week and dropped him before even reading when he would return. He dropped him for Placido Polanco

Grab Headley and trade Castro when Hanley comes back
You will have a leg up on the league if you can grab a top 3-4 3B off FA.

Spend whatever you feel you need to get him. If that's $200 then do it.

I doubt you'll find anyone better than Headley on the waiver wire at any point.
I'd also go $200 if you think you need to

I don't think it will take $200. Everyone has been conservative bidding so far and Headley probably is only on 2 other teams radar.

Got him for $61. No one else even tried to get him

Are you in a special needs league?

Actually everyone in my league is pretty competitive and highly intelligent. I think they just use baseball as a filler to get to football season. I guess I do the same to a degree.
Its not super serious like a lot of the leagues on here, but I still would like to win so I can add it to my mantle
I'm guessing you didn't ask that as a legitimate question though, so frick yourself.
