Looks like plasma weapons won't be just in games anymore.

I would like to share this here. I believe that it would get more appreciation and or honest criticism.

Won't be leaving the video game realm any time soon.

The article briefly talks about weaponizing the technology at the end, but the research is primarily for energy storage and transmission. The video doesn't even mention weapons tech.

The effective range of their current plasma ring is also only 2 feet. I'm not sure what a minimum distance requirement would be for this to even begin to be viable as a weapon, but I'd estimate it would have to be at least triple digits, otherwise your enemies can just stand out of your range and shoot you with bullets.
