Definitely Louis. He said it was his first screenplay ever to get picked up and they asked him if he wanted to direct. They gave him pretty much no creative control during filming though.

He did a Reddit AMA the other day and pretty much said he would do it again in a heartbeat, although he would've tried to stand up more for the movie he wrote.
Kind of crazy to think a guy who is known for circumventing major studios got controlled by one.
