I got this for hog hunting. I shot a decent sized hog last year at point blank range while laying flat on my belly with a .357. He walked off like nothing ever happened. I decided I needed to up my fire power.
I also plan on shooting deer with it.
And to the other posters, I've shot it probably 100 times or so and this thing is a hoss.
Most of the time I shoot the .454 casull or .45 LC.
I like shooting the .45 LC out of it, but the bullet is so much slower that it shoots much lower than the cannon bullets.
Btw, with the weight of this weapon, the .45 kicks like a .22
I also plan on shooting deer with it.
