Flying to Dallas next week for a hunting trip

Should I be worried about delays, traveling with firearms, etc? I think I will start driving to my Texas hunts.

Just make sure to go to your airline's website and print off their guidance for traveling with your firearm and follow it exactly. Keep the print off with you on the off chance you run into a baggage agent that wants to give you a hard time, so you can show them the airlines own policy immediately. I would also keep any expensive glass (binos, scope, rangefinder) in your carry on vice in your checked hard case.
I have never had an issue traveling through DFW or any other airport for that matter. What are you after, Turkey? Good luck!

AMEN!
Read ALL the rules for BOTH the airline AND the TSA. When I flew last spring to NV, the airline had new regulations that made my old rile case oversize. Could've been charged an extra $200 one way. Ended up getting a new travel case instead. It may reach the point where it's more feasible to ship one's guns ahead of time to the hunt instead of checking them in as baggage.

Thanks! Turkey and hogs. I plan on bringing shotgun, rifle, and maybe 44 for fun but having 2nd thoughts on that one.
