the phone is ringing off the hook, the top three OTs are gone, Lotulelei, Floyd, and Richardson are gone. Jarvis Jones, Mingo, & Tavon Austin are available. Do you accept an offer? Which one and why?

Pittsburgh offers #17, #79 (3rd Rd), & #186 (6th Rd)

Dallas offers #18 & #80 (3rd Rd), & #151 (5th Rd)

Cincy offers #21 & #53 (2nd Rd)

Minnesota offers #25, #52 (2nd Rd), & #120 (4th Rd)

Denver offers #28, #58 (2nd Rd), #90 (3rd Rd), & #125 (4th Rd)

San Francisco offers #31 & #34 (2nd Rd)

Arizona offers #38 (2nd Rd) & 2014 1st Rd pick

No way Pittsburgh pulls off that trade and not give up a 3rd

I take jones and it's a done deal

Minn or Denver

Probably Denver

I'd rather try to get a LT or star by moving up a bit

Eta maybe San Fran as well. Didn't see that one

I would take San Fran! 31 Kevin Minter and at 34 Jamie Collins.

Damn. All very appealing options. I'd take any of those deals.

i think my order of preference would be the following:

quote:

Denver offers #28, #58 (2nd Rd), #90 (3rd Rd), & #125 (4th Rd)

Minnesota offers #25, #52 (2nd Rd), & #120 (4th Rd)

San Francisco offers #31 & #34 (2nd Rd)

Dallas offers #18 & #80 (4th Rd), & #151 (5th Rd)

Pittsburgh offers #17, #79 (4th Rd), & #186 (6th Rd)

Cincy offers #21 & #53 (2nd Rd)

Arizona offers #38 (2nd Rd) & 2014 1st Rd pick

Then I would trade with Pitt. They take mono or jones, rams take austin. We get the leftover stud pass rusher

Damn another edit

I'd take Arizona. That's a tough division.

Take the early 2nd rounder, take whatever 2nd tier T is left. See what we have in Butler, junior, tez as olb and how Buckley and hicks play in 3-4. Load up next year.

big appeal for Pitt or Dallas would be thinking you could pick up the extra selections and still get Jones or Mingo 2-3 spots later.

I added them up to be reasonable trades using the draft pick value chart. Don't remember which one had the highest return using that- thinking it was Denver.

When you trade for a year later pick (like AZ) you are kinda betting on what range you think they would end up in next year's draft. That one inside the top 10 would be the highest point return in trade value.

yeah, but then we don't get a first rounder this year. i don't like not having a first round pick two years in a row

yeah, i'd have to roll the dice. i really like jones and mingo, but i think some good playmakers are on the board still at 17&18. i'd take the chance i think

Worst case scenario mini and jones are gone and we have Austin on the board with a host of suitors wanting to move up

Or they're both gone and someone already traded up with tampa or carolin for austin

can't the draft just be tonight? totally ruining the schedule release experience for me

Minny, who I suspect would make the best offer in that scenario since Austin won't last past 15.

I threw this out there a while back. Probably pretty crazy but its not like the 49ers dont have the picks to use to move up. You guys can bash it again if you want but whoever brought up the julio comparison last time the value the Falcons gave up was extremely higher than this.

Saints give pick #15 (value 1050).
Saints receive picks #34, 61, 93, 128, 277 (value 1026).

quote:

34. Damontre Moore OLB/DE Texas A&M
61. Jonathan Cyprien SS Florida International
75. Robert Alford CB Southeast Louisiana
93. Brandon Williams DT Missouri Southern
109. Chris Faulk OT LSU
128. Sean Porter OLB Texas A&M
144. Montori Hughes DT Tennessee-Martin
183. Jawan Jamison RB Rutgers
227. Mark Harrison WR Rutgers

The odds of the 49ers giving us 5 picks are probably slim even if the value is there. But I would cut cartwheels around my house if they could pull it off. Moore may be a long shot at 34 but it goes along line with some of the most recent mocks. Load up on as much talent as possible and keep the ones you want.

generally the team trading up has to pay a premium, not a discounted rate in pick values. That's why I put #31 + #34. That equals 1160pts. A 110pt premium is very reasonable to enable a team to jump from the end of the round to first half.

The more I think on it the sweeter the #31 &34 combo might be. Both could be immediate starters. Some combo from-

DT- Hankins, Jesse Williams, Sylvester Williams
OLB- Damontre Moore, Okafor, Jamie Collins
ILB- Minter, Teo, B- Banks, Jamar Taylor, Poyer
S- Cyprien, Reid, Elam
OT- Watson, Armstead

easily, I think the talent curve in the draft is pretty flat, getting 3 picks in the 2-4 would give us a chance to get some much needed cheap potentials.

I'd take this one.

quote:

Pittsburgh offers #17, #79 (3rd Rd), & #186 (6th Rd)

Then I'd trade #17 for
quote:

Minnesota offers #25, #52 (2nd Rd), & #120 (4th Rd)

Then I end up with the 25th, 52nd, 79th, 120th & 186th for the #15 pick.

NFL EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR Y'ALL!!!

In all honesty, I'd take the Pitt trade with the stipulation that they couldn't draft Jones or Mingo. It goes to an out of division team and I still get Mingo or Jones. No guarantee with the Dallas trade.
