Why wouldn't he? It's not like they would have made the playoffs without him. I'm sure Michael Jordan would be sure to make a public statement talking about how it doesn't count.

Can you imagine how "tarnished" that 6th ring would be? Whether fair or not, it would give the talking heads something to debate for decades.

It only matters how you play in the playoffs. Wonder how many people saying "he should because he got em to the playoffs" have said this.

Exactly. Most people believe this about NBA basketball. So what would that mean for Kobe? And of course you do have the interesting dynamic of most believing the Lakers wouldn't have even made the playoffs without him.
