The escargot app is different but very good.
Everyone loves the "sisters of the sea" which is half crab au gratin half shrimp au gratin. Its pretty awesome, very very rich. I always get fried softshell crabs with a crabmeat imperial topping. You really cant go wrong with anything on the menu. One of my favorite places.

Drive west along the beach (its a nice drive) to Long Beach and eat at [link=(Darwell)]Darwell's[/link]. It's BYOB and a really good atmosphere.

I agree with other posters thus far, as those places are mentioned already I can add Shaggy's and the shed for bbq. The shed is a little of a drive though.

Chimneys may be a bit nicer than anything else recommended so far.

We ate there two weeks ago and were very disappointed. Our table faced the kitchen and after five minutes, the wife told me that every time the door opened, she wanted more and more to leave because it appeared to be filthy. I know that most of us would die if we knew what the kitchens of our favorite places look like, but still....
Also the food was sub par. we had the crabcakes and fried tomatoes, which were cold (tomatoes and crab cakes) and definately not lump crabmeat - sort of like what tuna in a can looks like. Sad that they tasted similar to tuna croquetts too. Definately not how a crab cake I would make would turn out.
Other stuff we had was just there - won't waste my and your time with attempts to explain bla bla food at a high quality menu price.
Wish we had walked 40 steps farther across the parking lot to Mary Mahoney's. Oh well, not the first dumb decision I have made in restaurants. Likely not to be the last either.

Surely not a place to go for an anniversary dinner. I'd rather go up 49 and eat at Thai Lotus.
