MVP - Lebron
ROY - Lillard
MIP - JJ Hickson
COY - Karl
DPOY - Noah
6th - Crawford
I know a lot of people are on the JR Smith pain train, but he still takes too many moronic shots. He's a volume scorer on a team with one of the league's most notorious volume scorers, while Crawford truly gives the Clips a different facet to their offense when he checks in.

Spoelstra as COY, is bullshite. He has 4 HOFers on his team. Kevin McHale took a supposedly bottom feeder team to the playoffs. Spoelstra just chills and watches LeBron-dome.

Read any article on the Heat's offense by Zach Lowe or Coup Moorhead. Spo deserves a ton of credit for what the team has done this year.

quote:Yeah Pop never won with all his HOF players. Phil Jackson either. If you really think Spo chills and just lets the team do whatever you want, then you're an unsophisticated basketball watcher. The Heat's evolution as a team and offense is remarkable. Their offensive system is rivaled only by the Spurs'. As shown by their continual winning even with Wade, LeBron and/or Bosh resting over the past 2+ weeks.

Not saying Spo should win bc there are a lot of great candidates, but by that logic Phil Jackson and Popovich shouldn't be considered great coaches. Spo has played a fairly significant role in the heat continuing to improve every year and his offensive strategy has helped the heat lead the league in offensive efficiency.

Phil Jackson did have probably the GOAT and the most dominant of all time on his championship teams. I just don't know where coaching stops and talent takes over, and its not like Miami would lose 10 games more if Spoelstra was fired before the season. McHale took an almost entirely new roster and took them to the playoffs. For this year alone, McHale deserves more recognition than Spoelstra.

I wouldn't mind if Mchale won it, or Karl or pop or Woodson or Hollins or Thibs. I don't think it's fair to lump in Spo with coaches like Mike Brown or Byron Scott who luck into superstarts and win in spite of themselves. Spo has objectively and noticeably helped make this team, and even Lebron to an extent, better

At that point, where does coaching stop and GM'ing take over? Morey created the new roster, not McHale. The way they play is directly related to Morey and the stats influence on the team (lots of 3s, lots at the rim, little mid-range, maximize number of possessions.) McHale never embraced that kind of play before he got to Houston, as far as I'm aware.
Morey is the executive of the year, but that doesn't mean McHale deserves COY.

If you can't see Spo's hand in Miami's offensive efficiency then you either don't watch Heat games or you are just trolling.
I can understand other people winning the award, like Karl, but saying he isn't a good coach is ignorant IMO
