Slightly hoppy, but mainly nice roasted smells/flavors

I recall someone saying the second batch outta the brewery was less hoppy. But, it is a black IPA so you're going to get the roasted malts. I need to buy another 4 pack.

I like the style--Stone SSR, Uinta Dubhe, Hoppy Feet 1.5 all great--but the draft I had at Bulldog was much less hoppy than these.

I get nothing from this beer. I need to try hoppy feet 1.5 again.

This was the only Black IPA we got here for a while. Which ones do you prefer?

I've never had the hop in the dark or the Black Racer.

I like SSR and Stone 15th a lot though.

I'm not a big fan of the style. I think it tries to be too much. Blue Icon and Let There Be Black are the two that stand out for me.

Decent beer. Very carbonated and has a slightly weird after taste to it.

It is not among my favorites either, but I do enjoy them. I will find an Icon Blue in a bottle soon. From what you and ut and others say, I expect that it will be better than the draft I had.

Was my first time having it. Great flavor, very smooth, excellent beer imo.

Hop in the Dark is good--never had the Black Racer.

Me too. If only we could get fresh Stone stuff here.

I wanted to buy some Endeavor at Matherne's today, but the bottles were dated 1/11/13. The Green Flash Imperial IPA was from 11/12.

Same thing happened to me...I've been craving an Endeavor lately, but any find any fresh.
