Did you ask about availability? I bet they get a lot of them shipped at once.

Cabela's had decent supply in the displays. They had some not on display also. Worth asking.

And those that doubt the Apex trigger for defensive use, it REALLY makes you that much better of a shot.
I understand that thought and it's a legitimate opinion. I've given a lot of thought on it and read a lot on both sides. Again, it's likely that my profession and experiences have had some impact on my approach. I suspect that most folks who've testified in depositions or court feel the same way about limiting liability exposure. I wouldn't want to have to spend time being grilled by the opposing attorney about changing the factory trigger. And remember, the factory will also have an expert testifying why they don't recommend modifying the trigger. I'm confident I shoot well enough w/ the factory triggers on my cc guns. I guess that's what a lot of this comes down to......what one's confident and comfortable with.

He mainly means a handgun with a long sight radius and a full grip, AKA 4"+ barrel with a full grip. The compact has a 3.5" barrel and a compact grip. While it is a good gun, it's still not the same as a full size.
Full sized guns are just easier to shoot, handle, aim, etc. Smaller guns are more difficult to shoot.
That's pretty much got it. As an example, I helped one of my friends pick out a self defense gun recently. He ended up w/ a Glock 19. The Glock 17 is the full size gun, but he didn't like the way it fit in his hand w/ the longer grip "hanging out the bottom." In addition, my Commander size 1911 (4 1/4" barrel) balances in my hand a lot better than does the GI size (5" barrel). If that 4 1/4" M&P fits your hand well and is available, get it!

So what exactly are you looking for now? i'll keep an eye out. Full size M&P 9? 4.25"?
Posted on 4/24/13 at 8:29 pm to PapaPogey
4.25 9mm
If they have one in a five inch ill look at it... but I think the 4.25 is just the right size.

I'm not sure exactly how that works. I would just avoid the hassle and buy it in your state of residence.

insterdasting.
i talked to barneys this morning and they said they get shipments in all the time from S&W and to just call back daily and they will get one soon enough.
asked him the pricing, he said after taxes a M&P 9mm 4.25" would cost me $475.
so i think im just going to wait until they get one in stock.
thanks for letting me know about cabellas though

Does everyone get LEO pricing. Or you have to know somebody at Barney's?
Posted on 4/25/13 at 12:50 pm to Nodust
Everyone does. That's what was so surprising. My dad just called and they gave him the exact price and said it was the same for everyone.
The three mags included thing does it for me. That's like 40 extra bucks.
