good one.

In that vein I'll add The Dish and World's Fastest Indian.

An older classic that seems to get no attention any more is The Man Who Would Be King.

I'd wager about 75% of the movies listed thus far have been seen by about 75% of this board.

It's probably been seen my many folks on here, but it never gets talked about: Wonder Boys.

Great book, too

Alistriste - little known Viggo Mortensen movie. 17th century Spanish war captain who ends up a mercenary. Decent flick. Probably a little more well known but Witness for the Prosecution (1957) - drama/murder trial case, it's on Netflix.

Ink - It's a decent little indy flick. I caught it on netflix a while back.

The Guy with Secret Kung Fu - It's a so bad it's good movie. The sound effects and editing is laughable. My old room mate picked it up in the dollar bin at Wal Mart. The choreography is surprisingly fairly high quality.

quote:

The Hong Kong film Cai Yang Nu Bang Zhu, English title The Guy With The Secret Kung Fu, is the typically terrible low-rent Asian martial arts film in every imaginable way.

The film features an absolutely boring, ultra-stereotypical genre storyline, completely predictable, and saddled with obvious budget constraints that further limit its scope.

This is combined with unacceptably poor dubbing, all-around editing, and sound.

Most damnably, even the fighting, which should be the main attraction in a film like this, is poor.

Literally nothing in this film is worth seeing. It has no redeeming qualities and is barely even amusing on a train-wreck level, aside from its ridiculous English title translation.

Avoid this title at all costs.

User review on IMDB. Sounds like a real winner, huh?

Blow Out (1986)
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974)
City of Lost Children (1995)
Delicatessen (1991)
Hard Eight (1996)- AKA Sydney
Broken Flowers (2005)

Not unpopular movies by any means but many haven't seen or even heard of them.

The Night Flier, based on the short story by Stephen King.

I watched this at 2 a.m., expecting pure garbage, but I was pleasantly surprised.
