Yeah good points. They gave just enough without revealing what happens in the book which I imagine was really challenging. And anything with PSH, I love.

I've been about 90% through that book for over a year. I should probably just go ahead and finish it..

Glad that they didn't show the arena, Quarter Quell, Finnick, etc. They did a good job of leaving some mystery to it.

The movie wasn't good at all. It just seems like this has been done before the only difference is a hot girl is the lead.

One thing I am really looking forward to in CF is watching the story from different perspectives. In the books everything is told from Katniss' narrative, but the Catching Fire trailer gives us a glimpse of President Snow plotting the Quarter Qwell. Although THG movie was not outstanding, I did appreciate seeing it through the eyes of the game maker, haymitch, etc.

Great. Now I'm gonna have to start a Catching Fire Nonreaders thread if I want to discuss whatever Catching Fire is. Can't nonreaders have anything that's their own.

The last book, Mockingjay, is the worst of the 3. Not well written and just a letdown really. I would skip reading the last book .

Zomg, Finnick Odair! Spoiler Alert! Just ruined the whole series by typing his name in my post! I wonder if he's related to Brynden Blackfish Tully...

Okay, watched the trailer and saw it was Hunger Games. I've heard the books are written at a pretty simple level, nowhere near as complex as GoT. Feel free to correct me if I was misinformed.

It sure as hell failed in execution, but I think there's a really good movie in there if they do it right.

I imagine it'll be nice for a screenwriter and filmmaker to have what has the makings of an interesting story and a dedicated fan base who actually isn't all that attached to Mockingjay, they can pretty much do whatever they want to it to make it a better movie than it was a book.

Not too excited. Read the books and was not impressed by the first movie. They are trying to turn it into a Twilight type movie where they could have gone with a Harry Potter type standpoint and made it darker.

ugh they killed a bunch of kids in the first one, it was pretty dark. also this one they are going to be killing rebels left and right in front of katniss. not sure how this can compare to anything remotely twilight related other than katniss peeta "love" story

Perhaps the rebels won't die, but merely sparkle.
