When I'm going west on I-10, I bring the rifle, unloaded.

When I'm going east on I-10, I bring the pistol - occasionally I chamber a round, depending on what neighborhoods I'm going in.

At home no rounds chambered - I drink too much at home.

House, one in chamber, multiple options ready to go.

90% of the places I go no gun allowed. So hardly ever have one in truck. It sucks

An unloaded weapon is about as useful as tits on a boar hog. I've instructed my kids to never, ever, ever ever ever ever ever ever touch a gun without my say so.

There are situations where having a gun with one in the pipe is incredibly stupid IMO.

Like people who leave their rifles loaded in the camp. Or leave loaded weapons unlocked in their bedrooms when young kids are home.

Please explain the reason for this if the gun is not a single action cowboy style revolver....
