Anyone else surprised Hilliard led all running backs in yesterday's scrimmage?

Kenny Hilliard led all rushers with 91 yards on 14 attempts, followed by Hill with 39 yards and one TD on seven carries and Terrence Magee 46 yards on five attempts.

Nah. It's a spring scrimmage, no reason to read anything into touches by running backs

Not at all. The kid is a stud. I think we all started reading too much into his declining production late last year. Early on this board was sucking him off daily

Thought I read that the scrimmage was more redzone concentrated, which would make sense to me that Kenny got the touches and yards

If Hilliard is our 3rd option, we are truly blessed at RB. You can never have too many fresh legs. Throw in Magee and we are stacked.

I cant think of a reason to find this surprising or concerning.

If I HAD to read something into this, it would be that we have quite the depth at RB.

i've been out of the loop, but I'm guessing A.Blue was held out completely from spring?

We expect him back and will have those 4 RBs in the rotation this fall? Any others? Any true freshmen at this position worthy to play?

He's been practicing in a green no contact jersey all spring.

Hilliard can be as good as he wants to be.

They didn't line him up in the backfield on Sat., but they did have him lined up at a wide out several times.

He did have twice the carries Hill had...Must be redzone heavy, as someone mentioned...

Miles certainly wasnt going to play Blue or Hill much. Plus, he's a heck of a back. Our RB's are terrific and I think Magee will give us a weapon on 3rd and long or 2 minute situations. If the Defensive Front 7 plays well, we will be in the hunt again.

Fobbs, has been practicing as a running back this spring. I guess that he is the 5th option. Injuries happen. And I don't know how effective he is.

BrBengal

Really, I find that strange. Any weird formation or trickery stuff when Blue was wide or did he actually run a route or block?

It wasn't really much of a scrimmage, all situational and a lot of red zone and close to the red zone scenarios. Hill had one really nice run, which accounted for about all of his yards.

They ran a few 5 wide sets with him there. If what they are practicing is any indication, this offense will be completely different from what we've experienced in the past.

I was more surprised by his regression in performance last year. I expected off of his performance at the end of 2012 he would build of that in 2013.
