Is it as beautiful in person as it looks in tv?

It's stunning. One of those things when pictures don't do it justice.

Much, much better in person.

TV doesn't show the undulation of fairways very well. It is bright green, rolling and immaculate. Looks awesome, especially later in the day or in the morning.

My dad has both been and played it. Can never put it into words. Said playing golf there was better than the day we were all born. I can't say I don't agree with him

Even moreso I tell people it's like walking onto a movie set. I usually park and enter in the back entrance and its in a 50 year old neighborhood . Then you go thru the gates and disneyworld awaits. Not a pc.of pine straw out of place and the grass is so perfect it must be fake. And the elevation changes can not be seen on TV. A must do for every sport fan.

Importantly, too, people become decent at the Masters. Everyone has heard about how you can leave your chairs and they won't be touched, but nobody leaves even a shred of paper laying around, etc.

The golf and tradition aside, I can't really say there is a better run operation I've ever visited (hotels, restaurants, etc.). It just runs perfectly.

TV doesn't do that place any justice at all.

The colors look really good on TV but it does NOTHING for the slopes and contours.

In person it literally looks like thousands of square yards of carpet.

Mind blowing in how efficient it is ran. Just a first class event. The elevation changes are amazing and the natural beauty is just something to be seen in person. TV tries but it just has to be seen in person. I've been twice and will go any chance I get at the drop of a hat.

If I could have tickets to any sports venue for the rest of my life in exchange for never going to any other sports venue, I would have a hard time not picking Augusta National over Sanford Stadium.

It is THAT stunning

I am going to get flamed for this but I don't care.

Last year I had the pleasure of walking on Augusta National and the field at Jordan Hare within a few days of each other. IMO, and I am critical, the grass on the field at Jordan Hare is just as nice as Augusta National.

Flame on.

Other places have nice grass too, but do they have square mileage of nice grass?

I wouldn't have thought so but I visited both venues within just a couple of days of each other so my memory was fresh. My observation only.
