I recently got some from Best Stop in Scott and thought it was very good, a couple of days latter my wife brought some home from Junior's and it was better. Depending on where you live in Ascension, Juniors might be close...
It is at the corner of Hwy 16 & Hwy 42 in Livingston Parish, next to Moonlight bar (The Hog's Breath in Dukes of Hazard movie) between Port Vincent and French Settlement.

What is the place on I-20 between Dallas and Shreveport? It's a gas station, but it's also has some mean as hell BBQ there, as well as beef jerky.
Also looking for recommendations on dry as hell jerky.
