He was good enough to be the #1 HS QB in the country but couldn't throw when he stepped on campus?

Biggest Troll ever by the recruiting websites.

The stretch of games leading up to 11/5 where Lee played between the 20's and JJ was in the red zone was absolute money.

Agreed. I thought it was absolutely brilliant to bring in JJ as a red zone/change of pace QB.

Naming JJ the starter despite the fact Lee was the most efficient passer in the SEC remains the mystery. The offense functioned better under Lee, and it really seemed like everyone could see this except Miles.

Mine has to be the fact that Russell Shepard never took a snap at QB or threw a pass for that matter.

Shephard's second play of his career at home against Vandy he took a snap at QB in the shotgun. He never threw a pass, but he did take some direct snaps at the QB spot and run out of them.

How they've been able to keep DJ Welter off the field for the first 3-4 years of his career!

Seems like the wildcat was made for a player like shep.

Maybe shep forgot how to throw over the summer before he got to LSU

What's the real story on Miles to Michigan in '07? Did Herbie make the whole thing up or just break the story prematurely so that Miles was in the position of denying it or abandoning his team on the morning of the SECCG?

We'll never really know.

The love affair with Jordan Jefferson.

Not any game in particular, just the entire career of this average quarterback at best, that was treated by Les Miles like an All-SEC player.

My biggest Les Miles mystery? What took you so freakin' long to hire a real offensive coordinator? And, can you please back the frick up and let the guy do his job? You would probably have 2-3 NCs if you had a top 50-75 offense every year.

he ran the ball about 80% of the time at the QB spot in high school and he was always the best player on the field.

snap the ball and run, snap the ball and run, snap the ball and run.....that was basically his high school career.

Like I said in the OP. Go watch the Vid At the 2.20 mark and beyond.

I don't think a good amount of posters understand the difference between high school football and the talent pool vs sec football and its talent pool.
It's daylight and dark.

I made all district in football soph Jr and sr yrs.
During that time I played against 4 guys that went on and signed with d1 schools.
Those guys were simply bigger, stronger and faster than everybody else on the field.

I didn't want him to sling it.

We made him a speed sweep champion of the world. A pass off of that play would've payed dividends .

Then again creativity isn't something we're used to seeing.
