Franklin BBQ if you have time to wait- 1 to 2 hours

If not go to the guy that taught Franklin how to BBQ

John Muller Meat Company 6th and perdenales. It is a food trailer.

Both guys BBQ are the best two in town and. Dry close to each other. It's hard to pick a winner buti prefer the no line or less line at John Mullers. They are open till the sell out.

If you want to assure they have BBQ show up between 11 and 12.

there are a ton of good Mexican places in town. I always find it hard to recommend. Are you looking for good drinks, interior Mexican, Tex Mex, or Ut coeds.

If coeds maybe go to Trudy's good drinks and lots of coeds.

Do not eat at Gueros by the way. It's nasty and really other then being on South Congress I don't see any redeeming qualities.

If you want the atmosphere of south congress docs motor works has a great patio, ok food, and decent drinks.

Its perfectly average, not nasty. I'd go to Curra's on Oltorf for mexican.

Torchy's for breakfast or lunch.

And I think their margaritas are pretty good.

Lamberts has a cool atmosphere and the food was really good. It is on 2nd street downtown.

Downtown? When you're hungover go to the Jackalope on 6th and get a greasy burger. It's been voted one of the best in Austin. Otherwise go to Frank and get a bacon bloody mary.

You are disqualified.

For old-school Tex Mex:
Juan in a Million (Con Queso Breakfast -- most people will say the Don Juan, but be strong and get the con queso breakfast with over easy eggs),
Joe's Bakery (Migas Breakfast), or
Cisco's (love me some picadillos). religious basis.

Oddball Cuisines:
Russian House (slow before 8pm, has a nightclub in the front, it's real kooky but fun)
Buenos Aires Cafe

Random spots outside of inner-austin:
Inka Chicken (peruvian style chicken I ate here for 4 days straight, their hotter style salsa is addictive. Get the plantains/yucca fries/and tortillas)
The Noble Pig (get the BLT that is made with pork belly)
Asia Cafe (extremely authentic chinese food from the mainland, not our american style chinese. I suggest the Teppan Beef)

New Additions (Locavore-esque):
Barley Swine
Lenoir's
Elizabeth St
Salt & Time
Michi Ramen
Hi Hat Public House
Banger's
êpicerie cafe & grocery
