Hope Rizzo hits another moonshot like he did Monday

I'm already tired of this Lillibridge guy. Cubs have 3-4 2b options in the minors that are better than him right now. Time to push a kid up and give him a chance.

Picked up McDonald cause I need innings. leggo

I agree he sucks so far, but it is only 2 games. The 10 pitch AB he had last night with the bases loaded last night was quality. Ended terribly, but he missed a 3 run double by a couple feet and grand slam by just a couple feet. I strongly disliked him until that AB, but that AB gave me a little bit of hope and bought him a little bit of time IMO. Hopefully he can turn it around and start hitting a little bit until we get Mr. Gold Glove back.

What do you think of the Sweeny signing? It has to mean a trade is lined up for Dejesus right?

Nothing makes me limper than having Dioner Navarro hitting in the six hole.
Also, posting the game time in the OP is nice.

I don't watch preseason anything. This year I've saod "who" a few times when looking at lineup

I certainly don't think so. Not this early in the season. That would be a pretty big downgrade. I would like to hope it's just for some added depth in case someone gets hurt.

Dioner was smashing the ball in the Spring. Yes, Spring Training, but still crushed the ball. I was at the Friday game in Houston and the HR he hit was an absolute rocket. I certainly wouldn't want him there everyday, but as a switch hitting backup to spell Castillo occasionally, I don't think you could ask for too much more.

Will a run be scored by either team in the first two innings?

2 spot by the Cubbies in the first
Winning a series would be a very nice way to start the season.

I am okay with Navarro as a backup catcher, but my comment was more along the lines that we have two hitters even worse than him in today's lineup.

Wood sharp through the first. 3 up 3 down and K's McCutchen to end the inning.

3 up 3 down for the Cubbies.

I liked the story of Dioner Navarro's jersey number. BTW, Travis Wood is wearing #37 now and Navarro is #30.
