I've always enjoyed Mr. B's, save one not so great dinner experience when the shrimp were really overcooked, but that's the only time the food or service has been poor.

I've been glad to see them bring back some of the original dishes for lunch. I wish they bring back the shrimp chippewa, though I've made it at home many times.

Here's the recipe for those who haven't had it.
LINK
It's a bit like Shrimp Diane.

I had the coconut beer shrimp app and shared that because my meal came with a soup or salad. The shrimp were huge and delicious just as I remember them. We used to make them quite often.

Three of us had the oyster artichoke bisque which was a pureed soup and was very very good. It was well seasoned and tasted of fresh artichoke.

One had the BBQ shrimp, good as usual, perfectly cooked and easy to peel.

Another had the herbed angel hair and shrimp which is an original dish they brought back for lunch that we’ve made a lot. The butter is added at the end so it’s very creamy and the mixture has a great flavor. I used to keep the herb butter in the freezer for use on other things. I need to do that again. It’s a good butter.

I had the grilled shrimp bahn mi poboy. I would have liked the bread a little warmed and the shrimp were smaller than the bbq shrimp. Could have used a few more of them, but it was a darn good poboy with julienned carrots, cucumbers and fresh cilantro served with chili garlic aioli and Asian slaw all of which I put on the poboy. The slaw was really good with a marinade of some sort. Fourth person had the tenderloin burger which he thought was superb.

We shared the hot buttered pecan pie which is by far the best pecan pie I’ve ever put in my mouth. It’s worth just going to have dessert there if you like pecan pie. It’s outstanding. Seriously outstanding.

Service was very good in spite of having Len as the waiter. He's a very dry guy and not all that friendly. I prefer Frenchy, myself, and before Katrina, Caesar was my favorite, but he didn't come back.

I think my two course meal with the soup and poboy was 20 bucks. I was the only one who had the two course meal, I believe. I was tempted to have the crawfish ravioli as I'd seen a picture of it on Facebook. Looked really good.

Sorry, no pics.

I'm trying to get these out quickly because I will probably die soon from all that food.

Motorboat, you don't have to read my threads, but this IS a food board. You've inspired me to post more reviews. I might even repost some old ones.

I think I've had the gumbo once or twice in my life. I don't order it often in restaurants. I make it so much and eat it so much at home that I prefer to have something different.

Actually had lunch yesterday at Mr. B's for a project. Did not have your experience.

That sounds negative. Are you going to share?

I ate there in January and had a great experience, then, also except that I thought the shrimp and grits needed a bit more of the sauce for my taste. There were 6 of us and everyone enjoyed their food. Cindy joined us for a while, but she didn't cook the food, so I don't think that made a difference.

I went and enjoyed the food. The service wasn't great though. Took 20 minutes to offer us dessert after we finished when all we wanted was the bill. Our waiter seemed pissy the whole time.

Did you have Len? That's how he seems every time I see him. He's sort of a character so I just go with it, but I prefer someone else.

I'm on a roll. About to start another one.

I have to make up for the time I was away.
