Your Lentil Recipes

So lentils are very healthy and after my food fest, I'm trying to do a few healthier things. I made some red lentils last night. I used tandoori masala as the main seasoning and, if I may say so myself (and I am), they were damn good. Sweated a generous amount of onions and garlic. Really tasty.
How do y'all prepare them? Do you like a certain type better than the other?

I gave the recipe the wife makes in that other lentil post and it is good.
However, I think they are somewhat overrated.
As I remember there is a huge Obelisk in the british museum that after the Duke or Earl or Indiana Jones or whoever the guy was who stole it in Egypt took it he smuggeled it back into England in a several ton load of lentils.
Now I will waste the rest of the night looking for that story...
Hope this doesn't mess up my Duck Dynasty viewing.
Edited to add:
I was wrong - it is the Obelisk in St Peter;s Square in Rome
Here is what Pliny the Elder wrote about it:
Pliny the Elder wrote about it in his Naturalis Historia (1st century AD). It was brought from Egypt by Caligula, on a ship filled with lentils to prevent any damage and raised in the Spina of his Circus, then called Nero's Circus. After the voyage the ship was filled with pozzolana and sunk so as to be used as the base for the left pier of Claudius' harbour, at the mouth of the Tiber.
Hard to imagine a shipload of lentils. Lots of farts in a ship load of lentils
You do know they are famous for starting farting don't you?

The wife does this one
Mujadarrah
She uses yellow rice in her version and I like it a lot. You probably would too.
The lentils (legume) and rice combine (metabolically) inside you to make protein so it's good for you, too.
She has a degree in Nutrition and would explain it better than I did. I should remember the metabolic string that changes the combination to protein but my biochemistry days are too far back in time.

Thanks. You know, did I have a thread on lentils before? At first, I thought I was losing it and that I'd made a recent thread on them. I think my dreams are invading my awake life!
Thanks for the recipe.
