Been looking for a fishing boat and just got an offer on a welded DuraCraft semi-V hull. Thoughts? Anyone have one?

I've never heard anything bad about them. Most welded boats are fine. If it looks good, there isn't much that can go wrong with it. Any more details on the boat? Size? Engine? Pics? Intended purpose?

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I'm pretty set on the Carolina Skiff DLV 198 with a 90 Yamaha, but this deal just popped up for a lot less money and the partner seems interested.

We had a 1860 with a 90, ran good and got decent milage. Still have a 17' with a 50 and it does OK with all the gear and me, but not great milage wise.

Any particular reason you want a Carolina skiff? IMO they ride like shite.

Longevity (nothing wooden to rot). Shallow draft. Easy to clean. Nice looking. Every other camp in Cocodrie has one parked out front.

How do they ride like shite? I've never personally ridden in one but my uncle has one and hasn't said anything negative about it. I'm interested to hear your take. I've read that they ride wet but I can deal with that.

Haha, just saw your avatar. I'm def sure it rides worse than that boat.

We mostly fish the marsh during the winter, so I'd have a problem with a wet ride.
Like you said, they like 'em down there.

Nothing a little rain jacket, goggles, balaclava and gloves can't take care of.

my dad has a 16' with the .125 alum sides and bottom. it has been a really good boat. We have fished everywhere including the marshes with this boat. only complaint is lack of storage.
