Without using Google, can you name the LSU quarterback who threw for 170 yards against Missouri in the 1978 Liberty Bowl?
I sure couldn't.

I would guess Ensminger.

or Woodley. They platooned back then, but I think Ensminger got more PT in the earlier years.

I thought it was pretty obscure, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't like a terrible fan for not knowing one of the best kept secrets of our past.

First question I have seen that was pretty difficult to answer.

I believe Woodley was also the first former LSU QB to play in a Super Bowl, but not the first QB from Louisiana (Bradshaw).

Interesting tidbit.

Not going to lie, I don't think I had ever even heard of David Woodley before looking at my calendar this morning.

I'll admit don't remember much from this game even though was in school! We had fairly decent seasons 77 & 78 (8-4's) but not great as expected today! Of course the Bear was always in the way and OM and MS gave us fits, but fun times regardless!

FAr worse than it looked like on tv. Sitting in the stands with the rest of the band was cringe inducing.
