So sick of the ESPN hypocrisy

We get it, the mean coach from Rutgers was yelling a lot and threw basketballs at his players legs. The guy was suspended and fined $50,000, which is more than a lot of hard working people in this country make in a year. Of course, every ESPN broadcaster won't drop this issue until the guy and his athletic director is fired.
I'm really waiting to hear what ESPN's newest employee, Ray Lewis, has to say on this issue.

I guess they should fire bobby knight as well. Knight was not exactly a Boy Scout during his college career. Remember the video of him choking one of his players during practice.

The coach should be fired

But Manti Te'o can lie and invent fake dead girlfriends for Heisman publicity, and ESPN will convince you that he is a victim and STILL should be drafted in the first round even though I can run a faster 40 time.

Maybe he should, maybe he shouldn't, but that's up to Rutgers to decide, not ESPN. They beat the drum on all of these trumped up issues (Bountygate, the oversigning hit piece on Les Miles all they while Lord Saban is a far worse offender than Les, etc). It's the fact that ESPN is acting so sanctimonious when they do not hold the same standards to themselves in their hiring/firing practices.
ESPN picks and chooses what they want the sports fan to focus on, and it's unfortunate that there are no good alternatives out there to challenge them.

I don't understand why some of you continue to watch those goons when you know they are only going to piss you off.

I have gone several months without watching them, my tv mostly stays on the Golf Channel. But last night I had it on ESPN looking for baseball highlights (MLB network had a game on). Of course this morning, I passed by Mike and Mike only to hear Golic and Greenie talking about it. I didn't keep it on them, but either they will spend all morning talking about it, or I was just incredibly unlucky to pass by the one breif moment they mentioned it. My son is a Ranger fan, so he was catching Yu highlights this morning, and I could see on the left of the screen that ESPN was busy promoting "Rutgers abuse" and "Lebron tweets about Rutgers".

This seems like their new thing since they got caught holding their dick with the Sandusky story.

The guy should be fired. Whether we agree or disagree with his actions, you cannot do that and expect it not to get you fired.
FTR: I don't have a problem with the verbal abuse, what I do have a problem with is his temper leading to putting his hands on players in a way that is not instructive, it's reactive and done with malice.

So don't watch it.
I won't, but I fully expect to see a news release in the next week or so saying that Rutgers has fired their baskeball coach. This will only happen because ESPN sided with a disgruntled former Rutgers employee and created a media firestorm.

when did Manti Te'o verbally and physically abuse players under his control? I missed that Sports Center update.

I'd be way more irritated if this didn't happen in every single other facet of life. I see people get fired every year because somebody at work did't like them and/or had an agenda.
